Generals fight off Hawks

Herkimer NY- The Herkimer Generals men's basketball team hosted The Mohawk Valley Hawks (10-6). The Generals jumped out ahead in the first half to close out the half up 29-24. The Hawks fought back to cut the lead to two in the final minute of the game. Herkimer's D'Ante Quinlan got fouled and hit his first of two free throws then got the rebound after missing his second shot to close out the win for Herkimer. 

The Generals were led by Quinlan(Yonkers, NY), Jayden Stephens(Yonkers, NY) and Skykell Brown(Rochester, NY). Quinlan scored 14 points, had 7 rebounds, 3 assists a steals and a block while going 10 of 12 from the  free throw line. Stephens scored 12 points, pulled down 7 rebounds had 2 assists and a steal. Brown added 15 points while going 8 of 9 from the free throw line. The Generals as a team went 77 percent from the free throw line, while the Hawks went 59 percent. 

The Generals move to 13-1 on the season and are back in action Friday when they travel to Troy to face Hudson Valley CC.
