#1 Generals take down hornets and Hawks to improve to 7-0

Herkimer NY- The #1 ranked Herkimer Generals played two games this weekend. On Saturday they traveled to Broome CC to take on the Hornets and returned home Sunday to take on the MVCC Hawks.

On Saturday, the Generals jumped out ahead 45-21 over the Hornets. The Generals controlled the whole game and cruised to a 79-57 road win.

The Generals were led by Sophomores Chris Volo (Westbury, NY), Shykell Brown(Rochester, NY) and Keyshawn Miller (Yonkers, NY). Volo had a double-double, recording 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. Brown scored 16 points, 2 assists and 2 steals. Miller finished the afternoon with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

On Sunday the Generals had a back and forth battle with Mohawk Valley. Sophomore guard Shykell Brown hit a buzzer beater at the end of the first half to put the Generals up 29-27 going into the half. The Generals and Hawks both scored 41 points in the second half to bring the final score to 70-68.

Brown led the Generals with 28 points (including 5 three pointers) and 5 rebounds. Miller had 10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals and 2 assists. Zyeir Lawrence (Oneonta, NY) added 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal. 

The Generals improve to 7-0 and are back in action 12/1 against SUNY Adirondack.
