GENERALS GET TWO CONFERENCE WINS VS FMCC AND SCCC

HERKIMER & SCHENECTADY — The Generals continued their three game winning streak this week with wins against Fulton Montgomery and Schenectady.

 

On Wednesday, February 5th, Herkimer beat Fulton-Montgomery CC 76-60 in a home matchup. 

 

Fulton-Montgomery kept the game close in the first half leading in four different times. A Shykell Brown pull-up jumper gave the Generals a 30-29 halftime lead.

 

Herkimer (15-6) went on a 32-16 run in the first 15 minutes of the latter half, and secured a 16 point win.

 

Freshman guard Jaylen Warmack (Utica) had a season-high 17 points off the bench. Freshmen guards Shykell Brown (Rochester) & Dante Griffin (Utica) added 16 & 14 respectively. Sophomore forward Ty Desinor (Brooklyn) added 11 in his second consecutive start.

 

Three days later, Herkimer traveled to Schenectady to take on Schenectady CC, winning 76-22.

 

The Generals scored 38 in both halves, and Schenectady scored 11 in each half.

 

As the score indicates, Herkimer (16-6) trounced on the Royals from the get-go. The Generals went on a 24-5 run in the first nine minutes of the game after Schenectady scored on its first possession. 

 

Guards Jaylen Warmack & Shykell Brown continued their hot streaks with 14 points each. Sophomore forwards Ty Desinor & Rashad Alfahad (Utica) each chipped in ten points on a combined 7-of-10 shooting.

 

As a team, the Generals shot 52% from the field, and only committed four turnovers.

 

The Generals look to keep their winning streak alive at Fulton-Montgomery CC at 7 p.m. It's their last road game of the month before three consecutive home games to end the regular season
