HERKIMER EASES PAST SANDHILLS, MOVES ON TO NATIONAL SEMIFINAL

Rochester, MN - For the second time in three years, the Herkimer Generals will play in the National Semifinals. 

The #2 seeded Generals shot out to an 18 point halftime lead and cruised home to defeat # 7 seed Sandhills CC (NC) by a score of 76-64 on Thursday afternoon in the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championships in Rochester, Minnesota. The win raises Herkimer's record to 29-1 on the year and was the Generals 26th win in a row. 

Once again it was a balanced scoring attack as Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY), Arnold Agard (Brooklyn, NY) and Musa Pough (Brooklyn, NY) each scored 14 points apiece while Keshaun Howard (Brooklyn, NY) added 13 points in the win. Felder's stat line included 8 rebounds and 7 assists while Pough led the Generals with 9 rebounds. 9 of Agard's 14 points came on 3-5 shooting from 3 point range. 

Herkimer's opponent in Friday's National Semifinal will be the # 3 seed Richland College from Dallas, Texas. The winner of that game will be play the winner of # 5 Rock Valley (IL) and # 8 Central Lakes (MN) in the National Championship game on Saturday night. Game time for tonight's game vs Richland is 6:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM CDT).
