HERKIMER MEN ADVANCE TO REGION III FINAL FOUR WITH 91-64 WIN OVER COLUMBIA-GREENE

Herkimer, NY - There have been many impressive numbers during the Herkimer Generals 2018-2019 season, but the most impressive one may have just been accomplished by their coach.

Coach Matt Lee won his 400th game on Tuesday night, against only 113 losses in his 16 year career, as the # 1 seeded Generals advanced to the Region III Final Four with a 91-64 win over the 8th seeded Columbia Greene Twins in a Region III Men's Basketball Game in Herkimer, NY. The win improves Herkimer's record to 26-1 on the year and was their 23rd win in a row since a loss to Hudson Valley on November 10th.

The Generals, still ranked # 2 in the latest NJCAA National Poll, had five players in double figures, led by Derrick Felder's (Yonkers, NY) 23 points. Freshman Isaiah Stone (Baldwin, NY) continued his strong play, scoring 15 points in the contest while Darius Hines (Troy, NY) chipped in with 13. Jaymes Jackson (Brooklyn, NY) and Teshaun Beckles (Bronx, NY) each pitched in with 12 points apiece.

Based on their # 1 seed in the Region III Tournament, the Generals have earned the right to host the Regional Final Four on their home court this weekend. They will take on fifth seeded Corning Community College in the first regional semifinal on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The second regional semifinal will be played at 4:00 between # 2 Mohawk Valley and # 6 Fulton-Montgomery. The winners of Saturday's semifinals will meet on Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Herkimer Varsity Gym for the Region III Championship.
