HERKIMER SURVIVES OVERTIME BATTLE WITH SCHENECTADY

Schenectady, NY - The Herkimer Generals have had many second half comebacks in their season up to this point, but Wednesday night at Schenectady may have been the most impressive.

Playing their fourth road game in eight days, Herkimer battled back from a 9 point deficit with 1:18 left in the second half to force overtime, and then battled to a 83-79 overtime win over the Schenectady Community College Royals. The win, which was Herkimer's 21st in a row, lifts the # 2 ranked Generals record to 24-1 on the year and 14-1 in the Mountain Valley Conference.

Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY) paced the Generals attack with 20 points, which included a 3 pointer with 1.6 seconds left in regulation that forced the extra session. Teshaun Beckles (Bronx, NY) notched 17 points and Arnold Agard (Brooklyn, NY) added 14 points on the evening.

Herkimer now finally gets back home to play in their regular season finale as they will host the North Country Saints on Saturday afternoon in Herkimer. A win will not only clinch the # 1 seed in the upcoming Region III Championships, but will also give the Generals the outright Mountain Valley Conference Championship. Game time on Saturday is set for 1:00 PM.
