GENERALS WIN 20TH GAME OF THE YEAR WITH 75-64 WIN OVER FMCC

Herkimer, NY - In a hard fought battle for first place in the Mountain Valley Conference, the Herkimer Generals used a 22-9 run over the last 6 minutes to defeat Fulton-Montgomery 75-64 on Monday night in Herkimer, NY. The victory gave the Generals their 20th win of the season and improved their Mountain Valley Conference record to 10-1 to take over first place in the conference. It was also their 17th straight win on the year.

After grabbing a 10 point halftime lead at 40-30, Herkimer maintained that lead into the second half before the Raiders went a 15-3 run to take a 55-53 advantage with just over 6 minutes remaining before the Generals closed on their late run.  Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY) and Musa Pough (Brooklyn, NY) led Herkimer's attack with 15 points apiece. Keshaun Howard (Brooklyn, NY) came off the bench to score 12 points, which included 3 3 point field goals. Isaiah Stone (Baldwin, NY) added 11 points while Teshaun Beckles (Bronx, NY) added 9 points and a couple of big defensive plays during the decisive run that gave Herkimer the win. The Generals hit 9 3 point shots as a team and went 22-27 from the free throw line on the night.

Herkimer now goes on the road for four straight games in conference play, beginning with a trip to Glens Falls, NY to take on the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves on Wednesday evening, February 13th. the start time for that game is set for 5:00 PM.
