HERKIMER USES BIG SECOND HALF RUN TO DEFEAT COLUMBIA-GREENE

Herkimer, NY - For the fourth time in six days, the Herkimer Generals faced a second half deficit at home. For the fourth straight game, they used a big run to come away with the win.

Down 64-50 with 11 minutes to go, the Generals went on a 23-1 run over a 4 minute span and held on to beat the Columbia-Greene Twins by a score of 84-78 on Thursday night in Herkimer's Varsity gym. The Mountain Valley Conference win improved Herkimer's record to 14-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play. It also marked Herkimer's 11th win in a row. 

The Generals, still ranked # 2 in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll, had five players in double figures, led by Musa Pough (Brooklyn, NY) who tallied 18 points. Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY) scored 14 points, Keshaun Howard (Brooklyn, NY) added 12 points off the bench while Isaiah Stone (Baldwin, NY) and Jaymes Jackson (Brooklyn, NY) scored 11 and 10 points respectively. 

The Generals were due to travel to Rochester, NY this upcoming weekend and play in the Monroe Community College Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. However, that tournament has been cancelled due to the winter storm that is forecast for the area. Next up for Herkimer is a trip to Saranac Lake, NY on Wednesday January 23 for a matchup with North Country Community College. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
