HERKIMER COMES BACK TO TAKE DOWN GENESEE CC, 70-65

Herkimer, NY - Facing their third Division II opponent in four days, the Herkimer Generals once again came back from a second half deficit to defeat Genesee Community College by a score of 70-65 on Tuesday afternoon in Herkimer, NY. The win, which was Herkimer 10th in a row, lifts their season record to 13-1 on the year. 

For the third game in a row, the Generals had to come back in the second half to earn the tough home win. Down 59-51 with just over 6 minutes remaining, Herkimer, ranked # 2 in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll, used a 19-6 run to end the game and get the victory. Once again, Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY) led the way with 22 points, 17 of which came in the second half. Keshaun Howard (Brooklyn, NY) continued his strong play, adding 11 points while Jaymes Jackson (Brooklyn, NY) chipped with 10 points off the bench.

The Generals now shift to conference play as they host Mountain Valley Conference opponent, the Columbia-Greene Community College Twins, on Thursday night in the Herkimer Varsity Gym. Game time is set for 5:00 PM.
