# 3 HERKIMER USES BIG SECOND HALF TO DEFEAT ONONDAGA

Herkimer, NY - The Herkimer Generals used a great defensive effort in the second half to earn a 75-52 win over Onondaga Community College on Saturday afternoon in Herkimer, NY.  The win lifted the Generals record to 10-1 as they head into the holiday break.

Herkimer, ranked # 3 in the NJCAA Division III Basketball Poll, found itself 32-28 with about 4 minutes to go in the first half. Then, sparked by a technical foul on Onondaga, used a 12-3 run to close the first half to go into halftime with a 40-35 lead. The Generals came out in the second half and held the Lazers to only 17 second half points as they slowly built their lead to the eventual 23 point win. 

The Generals put five players in double figures, led by Jaymes Jackson (Brooklyn, NY), who came off the bench to lead Herkimer with 13 points. Sophomores Teshaun Beckles (Bronx, NY) and Derrick Felder (Yonkers, NY) each added 12 points while Darius Hines (Troy, NY) kept up his strong play with 11 points. Keshaun Howard (Brooklyn, NY), who also came off the bench, pumped in 10 points, which included 3 3 point field goals. 

Herkimer will now enjoy the next month off and return to action in 2019 on Saturday Jan 12 as they host the Philly Classic. The Generals will take on Monroe Community College on Saturday at 12:00 noon and then take on Niagara CCC on Sunday the 13th at 2:00 PM.
