HERKIMER FALLS IN NATIONAL SEMIFINAL TO ELGIN

Elgin Community College (Illinois) started the game on a 7-0 run and never looked back for a 57-42 victory over Herkimer College in the NJCAA National Semifinal in Rochester, Minnesota. Elgin advances to tomorrow night's National Championship game while the Generals will play at 6:00 EDT in the National Third Place Game.

Cold shooting doomed the Generals from the start as they only scored 5 points in the first 15 minutes of the game as Elgin had its largest lead of the game at 22-5 with 4:37 left in first half. Herkimer went a 8-2 run to end the half, capped by a steal and dunk by Matt Dallas (Hudson, NY) to make the score 24-13 at the half.

The closest Herkimer got was 4 minutes into the second half as they closed the gap to 29-22. But the Generals could not warm up from the field as they shot 25% for the game and 2-22 from 3 point range.

Tyquan Scott (Long Beach, NY) led the Generals with 17 points, all in the second half while Arnold Agard (Brooklyn, NY) and Justin Harley (Central Islip, NY) chipped in with 8 and 7 points respectively.

Herkimer's record falls to 28-5 and will play the loser of the North Lake (TX)/Anoka-Ramsey (Minnesota) semifinal at 6:00 PM EDT tomorrow in the third place game
