SENIOR NIGHT FOR MEN'S BASKETBALL

Herkimer, NY-- Herkimer Generals men's basketball finishes the regular season on a high note earning their 24th win of the season over the North Country Saints.  The Generals took the lead early on and held it for most of the first half.  The Saints kept the score tight however they fought from behind throughout the first 20 minutes.  It was with just 1:30 left in the first half that the momentum began to permanently swing in favor of Herkimer as they took a 4 point lead at 37-33.  North Country turned it over the next possession and Herkimer took advantage scoring an easy 2 points to end the half 39-33.  Herkimer's effort on the boards kept them in charge throughout the game including one possession in the second half when two missed threes were gathered up by #12 Arnold Agard (Brooklyn, NY) and #1 Justin Harley (Central Islip, NY).  Harley finished the possession fighting around the defense to lay in two points as Herkimer kept the lead at 49-35.  Throughout the rest of the second half Herkimer held control of momentum and control and played with a comfortable lead.  The Herkimer offense was lead by sophomore forward and Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year #23 Tyquan Scott who sank 32 points this game mostly from the paint.  The Generals look forward to possibly earning high Regional seedings and hope to host the semifinal game this Tuesday February 28th.
