GENERALS SWEEP HAWKS THIS SEASON

Herkimer, NY-- The Herkimer Generals hosted their long standing Mountain Valley Conference rival Mohawk Valley Hawks tonight in arguably the season's best match up.  Herkimer coming into the game with a record of 14-3, Mohawk Valley coming into the night with a record of 17-3.  Very early in the season, on November 9th, Herkimer traveled to Mohawk Valley and earned a 79-57 win.  The Generals knew this game would be tougher as both squads have had two months to mature.

In the first half Herkimer sophomore #23 Tyquan Scott played with the hot hand scoring 16 points in just the first 20 minutes leading the Generals to a 31-25 lead at the end of the half.  Scott earned his final eight points in the second half.  Some key players of the night were freshman guard #4 Isiah Dobere (Albany, NY) and #12 Arnold Agard (Brooklyn, NY) who controlled the tempo of the offense as the point with a combined 4 assists and 15 points.  Also worth mentioning was #1 Justin Harley (Central Islip, NY) who played big underneath bringing down 12 rebounds.  With 4:10 left on the clock Herkimer held a 5 point lead at 46-41 and never looked back.  The Generals built a comfortable 10 point lead with just under two minutes left and the game finished Herkimer up 63-54.  Generals Next Game: Herkimer Philly Tournament- 2/3/17 Friday 5PM vs. ASA College.
