Generals remain undefeated against conference Thursday
HUDSON, NY — Columbia-Greene Community College struggled to convert on offense and stop the Herkimer Generals on defense as the Twins fell 88-47 in a men's basketball game Thursday at home.
The Twins kept it close early on, holding a 7-7 tie before Hudson native Matt Dallas nailed a 3-pointer to put the Generals ahead. C-GCC fell behind by a slight margin of 18-14 with 14:24 remaining in the first half before Herkimer kicked into another gear.
The Generals pulled ahead 39-19 over the next six minutes and rolled to a 55-32 halftime lead.
JT Elmendorf led the Twins at the half with nine points as Jovan Coffey had seven.
In the second half, Herkimer went on a 11-0 run to open it up, pulling ahead 66-32. With the game getting out of reach, Dallas put on a show for his former hometown fans, stealing a ball and breaking away for a dunk.
Dallas finished the game with 10 points for Herkimer while Patrick Dorrian picked up a game-high 20 and Tru Garland chipped in with 16.
Elmendorf led the Twins with 14 points in the loss while Coffey had 12 and Jaden Edwards added 10.
C-GCC (3-14) returns to the hardwood on Saturday, hosting SUNY Adirondack at 1 p.m.
