Matt Lee wins 300th career game

HERKIMER, NY – On Sunday, November 22, 2015 Head Men's Basketball Coach Matt Lee won his 300th career game against Finger Lakes Community College, defeating the Lakers on their home court 68-58.

Lee is currently in his 13th year with the Generals, accumulating a 300-98 record to date. His 75 percent win percentage is the best in the programs history, winning four regional championships in 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015 which resulted in a third, two fourth and one seventh place finish at the national tournament.

Helping Lee to those milestones was three 30 win seasons, going an impressive 33-3 in 2009-2010. 33 wins is the most he's accumulated in one season, but has come close as of late with 32 wins in 2012-2013 and 31 wins in 2014-2015. As a result, the men's basketball program has been nationally ranked in the Top 10 since 2007, holding the #1 ranking for seven weeks in 11-12 and the #2 spot for six weeks in 14-15. The team is currently ranked #7 in the nation, already boasting a season-high six game win streak.

Lee's success on the court has helped him receive Region III Coach of the Year twice (2007 and 2010), along with Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2010. That's not it though, as he's also been named BCNY NY State Men's Junior College Coach of the Year (2010) and a SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service (2007).
