Season-high from Owens and Woodard gets 12th consecutive

QUEENSBURY, NY – Led by season-highs by both Ken Woodard (Bronx, NY) and Daniel Owens (Albany, NY), the Herkimer Generals men's basketball team collected their 12th consecutive win Wednesday (2/11), defeating SUNY Adirondack 78-68.

Herkimer (23-2, 14-1) got a stiff test from the Timberwolves for their 10th consecutive Mountain Valley Conference win, seeing SUNY Adirondack shoot over 50 percent from the field and three-point land. It didn't matter as Herkimer led by one at half (34-33), building that lead to double digits by the end of regulation.

Joining Woodard and Owens in double figures was Jamell Johnson (Rochester, NY). The sophomore added 12 points. After him, Carson Murphy (Mohawk, NY) had nine, Jallah Tarver (Schenectady, NY) had six and Julio Galay (Bronx, NY) had four.

The Generals next game is Saturday (2/14). They'll travel to play Columbia-Greene Community College, a team they only beat by four points (79-74) at home in January. The Twins are currently the eighth best team in the region. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
