Generals finish season strong going into Regionals

SARANAC LAKE, NY – The Herkimer Generals men's basketball team finished their regular season at North Country Saturday (2/22) afternoon. The team had four players score in double figures and nine score in total, en route to an 89-55 win over the Saints.

Herkimer 22-7 (14-3) has played well down the stretch, winning their last four games by an average of 33 points. Helping the Generals cause has been Jonathan Feiler (St. James, NY), Wendall Williams (Syracuse, NY) and Enson Garcia (Bronx, NY). Each has contributed strong defensive and offensive efforts, causing opponents to pick their poison for long stretches during a game. Feiler led his team Saturday with 26 points. Behind him was Williams with 16 and Garcia with 15.

Other contributors in the win were Jerrell Hunter (Utica, NY), Peter Clark (Utica, NY), RaShawn Collins II (Harlem, NY), Mike Santillo (Mohawk, NY), Julio Galay (Bronx, NY) and Tyler DeChalus (Elmont, NY). Hunter had 12 points, Clark has seven points, Collins II had five points, Santillo had four points, Galay had two points and DeChalus had two points. 

The team's next game will be this Friday, February 28th at SUNY Delhi, this year's host for the Region III Tournament. The Generals were given the #2 seed Sunday. Their opponent will be North Country. Game time between the Generals and Saints is at 8 p.m.
