HERKIMER, NY -- The Herkimer Generals hosted Onondaga CC Lazers on Saturday(5/14) in the Region III Sub-Regional Matchup. The Generals topped the Lazers in Game 1 11-0 and 10-0 in Game 2.
The Generals received stellar outings from pitchers Ryan Packard(Oneonta, NY) and Greg Farone(Schenectady, NY). The duo both turned in 5 inning shutouts, each only surrendering only one hit on the day. Packard struck out 8 and moves to 9-0 on the season and Farone struck out 13 to move to 5-0 on the year.
Herkimer's offense was led by Dakota Britt(Rockwall, TX) who went 6-8 on the day with 5 runs scored and 6 RBI's. Britt added his 14th Home Run on the season and also had a triple and double on the day. Sal Carricato(Farmingville, NY) and Kyle Caccamise(Hopewell Junction, NY) added 2 doubles a piece on the day. Carricato drove in 5 RBI's while scoring 2 runs and Caccamise drove in 2 while scoring 3 runs. Jordan Lewis(Toronto, ON) added 4 runs and 4 stolen bases for the Generals to round out the offense.
The Generals are back in action on Thursday (5/19) when the take on Finger Lakes CC for the opening game of the Region III Final Four at 2 PM.
