Little Falls NY- On Thursday, the Herkimer Generals hosted the Columbia Green Twins for a Region III double header. The Generals offense erupted for 33 runs in 2 games, winning 16-3 and 17-1.
Herkimer's offense was led by Dakota Britt (Rockwall, TX) who went 5-7 on the day with 4 home runs, 11 RBI's and 5 runs scored. Jovani Wiggs (Amsterdam, NY) finished the afternoon, 4-7 with 2 RBI's, 3 runs scored and a stolen base. Griffin Yastremski (Bath, NY) went 3-4 on the day with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. The Generals had 8 home runs on the day. Britt had 4 ,while Wiggs, Yastremski, Chance Checca (Ballston Spa,NY) and Ethan Duda (Latham, NY), all had 1 on for the Generals.
Pitchers, Jake Lombardi (Levittown, NY) and Derek Hotzler (Richmondville, NY) picked up the wins on the day. Both throwing 4 shut innings while not allowing a walk on the afternoon. Lombardi struck out 9, allowing 3 hits while Hotzler stuck out 6 while only surrendering 1 hit.
The Generals move to 15-4 on the season and will host Finger Lakes CC on Thursday (4/14) at 2PM.
