Hudson NY-On Tuesday, the Herkimer Generals Baseball team traveled take on the Columbia Green Twins. The Generals controlled the momentum from the first pitch, winning 10-0 and 19-2 in the double header.
The Generals offense was led by Chance Checca(Ballston Spa, NY) who went 3-5 on the day with 2 home runs, 5 RBI's and 4 Runs scored. Dakota Britt (Rockwall, TX) added 3 hits, 4 RBI's and 3 runs scored to pace the offense. The Generals totaled 5 home runs on the day. Checca, Britt and Jordan Lewis (Toronto, ON) all hit their 3rd home run on the season, while Ethan Duda (Latham, NY) hit his 6th of the season.
The Generals Staff was once again led by Ryan Packard (Oneonta,NY) who picked up his 4th win of the season. Packard struck out 8 in 4 innings, surrendering only 1 hit on the day. Joel Hayner (Halfmoon, NY) grabbed his 2nd win of the season, striking out 6 in his 2 innings of work. Griffin Yastremski (Bath, NY) closed out game 1, striking out 2 in 1 inning of work and Jake Lombardi (Levittown, NY) struck out 4 in 2 innings to close out game 2.
Herkimer improves to 11-4 on the season and will host Mohawk Valley CC, Thursday at Little Falls Veterans Field.
