Taylor Daniels, May Athlete of the Month
Herkimer Generals softball player Taylor Daniels of Watervliet, NY was named Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month for May, helping the No. 2 ranked program in the nation to its fourth consecutive Region 3 championship, compiling an 11-game win streak into the 2016 national tournament at McQuillan Sports Complex in Rochester, MN.
Daniels – a Business: Sports & Recreation Management major at Herkimer College – hit a whopping .519 in 54 at-bats (28-for-54) from the three-spot in the Generals lineup, amassing three runs batted in seven times and four runs batted in once. The four RBI performance came against Onondaga Community College in the national championship tournament where Daniels went 2-for-4 in the game, helping eliminate the Lazes with a Herkimer 8-5 win. In that contest, Daniels came through in the fourth inning when her triple scored two runs and helped the team come back from a one-run deficit (5-4). Taylor finished the month with 20 runs scored, three doubles, three triples, 32 runs batted in, five stolen bases and two walks. She was held without an RBI in only four of the 16 games she played in.

The Green and Gold represents this College and there is no better representative than Taylor Daniels!"
