Ashley Sterritt, March Athlete of the Month

Sophomore infielder Ashley Sterritt, Accord, NY, was named Female Athlete of the Month in March. Sterritt, an Education: Physical Education major at Herkimer College, scored eight runs on 13 hits during the team’s spring trip. It helped her accumulate 14 RBIs, five of which came against Mercer County Community College, winning the game 15-6.

Additionally, two four RBI games against Louisburg College and the College of Southern Maryland came via the home run, tallying three in 11 games, helping the Generals finish their trip 7-4 playing mostly DI and DII colleges.

Sterritt’s Head Coach Peter Anadio stated, “Ashley is getting everything that she deserves. She poured into her body and fitness this past year trying to become the best athlete that she could be. Her dedication to her strength training along with her nutritional habits has translated into being one of the strongest and most dynamic players that we have ever had come through the program. She is above a 3.0 in the classroom as well and she has been able to parlay her academic and athletic success into a full scholarship to Armstrong Atlantic University next fall!”
